Our research laboratories are staffed with experts in:
A female flea can lay about 50 eggs per day
and up to 2000 eggs in a lifetime
The average adult flea life span lasts up to 2 months
Why killing flea eggs and larvae is essential
Flea eggs and larvae are the first 2 of 4 stages in the flea life cycle. If these two stages are not terminated then larvae will spin silk cocoons and enter the pupal stage.
There are three physical cues that allow a pupa to turn into an adult flea:
- Carbon Dioxide
Basically, cues let a pupa know that its a good time to become an adult, because a host (dog, cat, you) is in the area. Products such as Hartz Ultraguard Pro Flea & Tick Drops for Dogs and Puppies not only kill adult fleas but also the eggs and larvae, preventing future infestations.
There are more than 800 known species of ticks worldwide
Health Threats posed by Ticks
– Lyme Disease
– Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever
– Tick Paralysis
