Keeping my dogs teeth & gums healthy
Keeping my dogs teeth and gums clean and healthy is very important to my pets health. It is vital to overall pet care in general. Adult dogs have 42 permanent teeth that need the same good care as you would take with your own! Feeding your dog healthy food and snacks is a must. Once or twice a week I will treat my dogs to Hartz Dentists Best® Chews. They love the treats, keep my dogs entertained, and they are an important part of keeping my dogs oral health in check. Check your dogs mouth and gums on a regular basis. Doggy breath, brown or yellow deposits on their teeth can mean decay or gum issues. It may even be a good idea to have your vet check your dogs teeth and gums on a yearly basis. Your veterinarian can recommend teeth cleaning if necessary, or even a small finger toothbrush for dogs. Your vet can show you how easliy this is done. Make sure to use a toothpaste made specifically for dogs. They also make oral rinses as well. As far as my beagle goes, he prefers the Hartz line of dental care treats! As I always say about my Bagel the beagle, The Nose Knows! And he knows whats best for him is Hartz!
