Nature’s Shield is an alternative to synthetic pesticides, containing a blend of natural, plant-based oils formulated into products that aid in the prevention and control of fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes.
Our Nature’s Shield line contains safe, effective, and naturally-derived ingredients, such as Lemongrass, Cedarwood, and Cinnamon oils. These oils contain active compounds that are toxic to fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes by contact. Utilizing plant-based alternatives helps limit your family’s and pet’s exposure to synthetic pesticides.
These plant-based oils serve as natural insect repellents that interfere with olfactory receptors in mosquitoes, and have been proven to be lethal to fleas, flea eggs, flea larvae and ticks due to their ability to disrupt nervous system function.
Hartz Nature’s Shield products are formulated with unique combinations of essential oils that all differ in their mode of action against fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes.
Some of the active compounds present in the oils include cedrol, citral, citronellal, eugenol, geraniol, and cinnamaldehyde, which all increase the pesticidal activity of our formulations.
These compounds can disrupt pheromones, break down the target insect’s exoskeleton causing dehydration, and can interfere with their physiological and behavioral functions, leading to death.
One minute your pup is running around the house like a ball of energy, and the next he's lying on the floor, head between his paws, glum as can be.
This common tick-borne illness can also affect your pup. Know the signs and keep your best friend happy and healthy.
If fleas are on your dog, you can be sure that they are also in your home. There are three ways you can take action for flea control and prevention: immediate treatment, infestation control and infestation prevention.
