Hartz® helps support Bowling Green, Kentucky’s Warren County Humane Society Rescue Rebuild® project – July 2021

Rescue Rebuild, along with a sponsorship from Hartz, helped the Warren County Humane Society shelter expand its number of play areas for dogs and cats this past July.

Rescue Rebuild, along with a $10,000 sponsorship from Hartz, helped the Warren County Humane Society shelter expand its number of play yards for dogs and build a catio for the cats. The cats now have a brand new catio to enjoy right outside of the adoption building putting cats front and center while also giving the cats the enrichment they crave.

New fencing was built so the dogs in the shelter’s intake building would have easy access to play yards and some repair magic was done to a different, older fence to create more room for playgroups. These new play yards will at least double their capacity for letting dogs have some fun in the sun and allowing large numbers of dogs to be exercised at once is also very beneficial for staff and of course, the dogs love it too!

Rescue Rebuild’s time in Kentucky was amplified by having the Dogs Playing for Life™ team there as well. Dogs Playing for Life works with shelter staff to safely create playgroups for more dogs, getting them outside and interacting with each other. Socializing dogs more results in happier dogs that are less stressed which results in less disease and extreme behavior, so more dogs are able to find their way into loving homes.
